In this Manifesto Poetico Open Laboratory, we invite participating artists to explore the dramatic and poetic dimensions of the universe of comedy.

Our main approach will focus on the Space of Comedy: how space itself can become a vital partner in creating clownery here and now.

We will promote the cultivation of a state of presence that connects us deeply with the moment, both with and for the audience. We will investigate the principle of availability — to the space around us and the space within us.

Through movement, rhythm, the red nose, improvisation, and ensemble work, we will awaken a comic language that arises from an awareness of dramatic space.

Some of the topics that we’ll propose are:

- Spatial articulation of the action

- Breathing. Direct contact with the audience

- System of spatial patterns. Comic and tragicomic

- Action - Reaction. Counter-tempo

- Ritualization of the gesture

- Spatial composition of scenes through improvisation

This Open Laboratory is an offer to actors (theatre and cinema), dancers, performers and all other theatre practitioners or scholars looking to explore and go deeper in the relationship with their comical practice and the dramatic space.
